How to run P2P software (sopcast, TVUPlayer Bittorrent) on a wireless router?

Hi, I recently purchased a wireless router Netgear WGT624 (have not received it yet) and was reading reviews that the wireless routers with a lot of support P2P software. I a dell DFAT No built in wireless card and I was wondering if I should have the same problem that others have? Is there a way around this problem?

Most of these devices have a built in firewall. View a large brick wall that will block the Internet. How does the Internet Protocol, each program that uses the Internet uses a specific port. Each port is a brick on the fire "wall". Now you open the port (brick) # 80 allow your browser to work. Now you open the port # 443 to get your Prowse commercial websites. You open the port # 110 for yor E-mail and so on. I hope I've not yet lost. Do you think you have to do is tell your Netgear device which port to use the program you use. You'll find the port that your program uses. Then, you go into your device and execution of this task. I hope assistance.
