N type are compatible with wireless G card type wireless routers?

In general, what are the profiles of compatible type g (n-type) wireless cards with n-type (G-type routers) wireless, and vice versa. If I get an Intel WiFi Link 5100 Wireless-N Mini, it will always able to work with a G-type router? I think the Wireless-G mini-map does not work with an n-type router, right? Anyone know? Thank you! All cards and wireless routers will work together. The a, b, g and n are an indication of the speed and coverage. One being the slowest and least able to cover larger areas, while N is the latest technology and gives the highest speed and best coverage. However, all are retroactively compatible will work with each other, but you're limited to the speed of the weakest component in your case, the system does work to speed G.
